_ [CentOS] Debian における iotop の代わりをCentOSでは何になる?

Debian で、iotop を愛用している人は、CentOS では、dstat を使うのがよいとGoogle先生のお伺いで表示された。

"per-process I/O accounting data" has been added to the recent CentOS 5.3 kernels (at least kernel-2.6.18-164.el5 has it from bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=239654). Dag has update his dstat utility (http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/dstat/) to include iotop like functionality (http://dag.wieers.com/blog/red-hat-backported-io-accounting-to-rhel5). So

  • yum install dstat
  • dstat -M iotop -d -M iotop
ってやったけど、CentOSのリボジトリに入っているdstatにはiotopモジュールがない模様。Module iotop failed to load. (No module named dstat_iotop)っていってる。(http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/dstat/)から入手した方を使わんとダメってことね。たぶん。

iotop自体は、pythonのscriptなので、CentOSでも動かないかなあ。と思ってソースを眺めるのとGoogleってみた。

I understand iotop need python 2.6 and kernel 2.6.20
and by default centos installed python Python 2.4.3
so i have installed the new kernel 2.6.30 and download python 2.6
and installed python from source code

ってのが見つかった。システムに与えるインパクトからすると、まだdstatを上記のサイト持ってくる方が低いよねえ。とは言え、できるだけCentOSのリポジトリだけで構成しておきたいので悩ましい所だ。
