_ [DPiS] cedar-backup2 - Secure backup to CD-R and CD-RW media

Cedar Backup is a Python package that supports secure backups of files on local and remote hosts to CD-R or CD-RW media. Cedar Backup also includes extensions that understand how to back up MySQL databases and Subversion repositories, and it can be easily extended to support other data sources, as well.

The package is focused around weekly backups to a single disc, with the expectation that the disc will be changed or overwritten at the beginning of each week. If your hardware is new enough, Cedar Backup can write multisession discs, allowing you to add to a disc in a daily fashion. Directories are backed up using tar and may be compressed using gzip or bzip2.

_ [DPiS] mono-gmcs - Mono C# 2.0 compiler

This is the Mono C# (C-Sharp) 2.0 compiler, a platform-independent compiler which produces CIL/.NET (Common Intermediate Language) binary executables. The gmcs compiler supports the C# 2.0 featureset like generics, anonymous methods, iterators, partial types and nullable types.

WARNING: The C# 2.0 specification is not yet official (there is currently only a draft), means no ISO nor EMCA standard yet and the specification may change and breaks your code!

Mono is a platform for running and developing applications based on the ECMA/ISO Standards. Mono is an open source effort led by Novell. Mono provides a complete .NET CLR including compiler and runtime, which can produce and execute CIL bytecode (assemblies), and a .NET class library.

_ [DPiS] libdebtags1-dev - Next generation Debian package categorization system (development version)

libdebtags provides functionality to search and categorize debian packages using the Debtags and APT databases. Functions provided:

  • search packages by normal debian/control fields and package tags
  • find packages related to a given one
  • edit debtags package categorization, with undo support
  • save and submit tag patches to the central tag archive

libdebtags is written with the intent to make it easy and efficient for applications to include debtags support.

Warning: the API has not yet been stabilized and is subject to change in future versions. This is why the library is distributed in a -dev package only.

For more information, see the Debtags homepage at: http://debtags.alioth.debian.org
