.NETとMonoでのJava VMだそうな．IKVM.NET is a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) for the .NET and Mono runtimes. There are two main ways of using IKVM.NET:
Dynamically: In this mode, Java classes and jars are used directly to execute Java applications on the .NET runtime. Java bytecode is translated on the fly into CIL and no further steps are necessary. The full Java class loader model is supported in this mode.
Statically: In order to allow Java code to be used by .NET applications, it must be compiled down to a DLL and used directly. The bytecode is translated to CIL and stored in this form. The assemblies can be referenced directly by the .NET applications and the "Java" objects can be used as if they were .NET objects. While the static mode does not support the full Java class loader mechanism, it is possible for statically-compiled code to create a class loader and load classes dynamically.

ケルベロスについて，Open Source 的に生きるには，サーバの管理について
話をする．user dataは，/homeに置くのが妥当ではないか．つまりVirtual hostに置いているデータはuser dataと考えると，Virutal hostのコンテンツは/homeにVirutal Host名毎に置くのが良いという話し．その対比で行くと，system wide, distribution固有，は /var/ /etc/ /usr/ site localは，/var/local/, /usr/local/ かと．
機能名と実名
hostnameは，名前が簡単に尽きないような体系を導入

他人にホティングしているときに相手にCNAME(cnameで相手のマシン名を指すことで相手がIPの決定をすることができる．)するメリット．

_ Etch Installer βソフトウェアとしてはね
実際、(http://www.netfort.gr.jp/~yabuki/diary/20060828.html#p03)の部分で、選択部分も文字列が見えなくなった。などのデグレードしている部分もある。基本的な機能として install able で そこそこ日本語化されていたので、βとしての及第点であり、他の人々にもテストしてもらうべく話題にしています。あのまま shipping されるとは考えてないです。
日本人の開発者が試して見れば、いろいろとインストーラの機能や外観について議論がおきるのは必須なので、まず褒めてから問題点を指摘するスタイルが好みです。
ログイン後の環境
kmutoさんの評価では、gnomeログイン後の環境は英語だと書かれていましたが、
VMWareでインストールしたこちらの環境だと、メニューなどは、日本語になっています。画像参照
こちらでは、echo $LANG とすると ja_JP.UTF-8 と返ってきます。うーむ。こちらはDaily Buildの8月28日のnetinstイメージです。

比較的硬派なイメージのある Debian の集まりだが、(http://alcopop.org/log/2006/08/29/#bbq)のように、BBQ をしてコミュニケーションを取っているのが面白いのでメモ。
_ 電波男(GW-US54GD)
ベルリンでのWiFi Spot探しのため、頼まれて購入していた電波男(GW-US54GD)(http://www.planex.co.jp/product/bwave/gw-us54gd.shtml)を、適当に検証していいという話を貰ったので動作チェックするついでに、Debianのstable(kernel 2.6.8)とunstable(kernel 2.6.17)に突っ込んでみた。
残念ながら dmesg や syslog をみても認識している log は出てなかった。Turbo Linuxだと動いている風味 (http://opentechpress.jp/article.pl?sid=06/08/04/0120248&from=rss)や(http://www.turbolinux.co.jp/products/compatibility/hardware/2.html)なのだが、特別なモジュールがなにか追加されているのでしょうかね。

最近のPC機器には、ファームウェアと呼ばれるプログラムを読み込んで、デバイス自身が利用可能になるデバイスがある。Debianのフリーソフトウェアガイドライン的には、たとえ、再配布可能でも、ソースコードも配布していないと Debianの Main セクションにいれるわけにはいけません*1。カーネルソースは、main セクションに入りますが、DFSG Free じゃないファームウェアは、non-free セクションなどに移動します。移動するのは、Developer がソースコードに手をいれて request_firmware() 関数や mod_firmware_load() 関数を呼び出して、ファームウェアをロードする手段になります。また、一部のファームウェアはカーネルソースから削除されました。これらの状況をまとめてあるのが上記のサイトです。

世界の山ちゃんは、大阪にはでてこないのかと思っていましたが、実は、テイクアウト店ができていたのですね。

_ glibc内で、これまで独自のライセンスだった RPC のコードが3条項 BSDのライセンスに変更される。
今回、OracleのWim Coekaerts氏が8月18日、3-clause BSD license（3条項BSDライセンス）の下で残りについても再ライセンスを認めたという。

debian の eglibc にも関係あるのだろうな。しかし、知らない時には均一だとおもっていても、中を知ると事情があるものだなあ。私は関西の人だが、東京のことをよく知らない時は漠然と東京という均一なモノをイメージしていたが、いくと東京も街によって個性がある。と、レイヤーは違うが、連想して思い出した。
