Tokyo Debian Meeting meets Kansai.
On 19th Nov, we had a Debian meeting in Osaka.
approx. 20 people attended.
It was hosted by Osaka Electro-Communication University.
Details follow:
-
We discussed the homework. The homework was to devise a
question. We discussed about Debian in general.
We discussed differences between Debian, FreeBSD, and
Fedora Core.
-
I talked about using sid. There was a mention about
apt-listchanges. People didn't know, but it is possible
to configure apt-listchanges to show the changelog and ask
what the changes are going to be before installation. The
default is just to send an e-mail after the fact, and that
default isn't too useful, when using sid.
-
I talked about using the BTS. The discussion went into
gory details behind the scenes, and might have been too
deep for the members present.
-
Iwamatsu talked about packaging. He took cairo-dock as an
example. Naturally, everyone present should now able to
make Debian packages.
-
Enkai happened in "One's" in Kyobashi. It took 40 minutes
by train to go to Kyobashi from the University site, but
we didn't get people lost, which is good.
