I have done apt-get install ssh and ssh daemon was installed on the machine. It was very simple, but it did not work as expected. In theory, adding from the local machine the contents of .ssh/identity.pub to the Sparcgate Master's .ssh/authorized_keys. It died with an error that the machine could not allocate a pseudo tty. It was a known problem and using slink with kernel version 2.2.12, with unix98 ptys enabled, I had to add none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0 to /etc/fstab. It went all fine.
