はじめに

WAVIO USBサウンドカード SE-U33GをDebian GNU/Linuxで利用する方法についてのメモです．しばらくすると使い方を忘れるのでメモしています．

ハードウェア

操作できる場所についてメモです．

入力	Line in, MIC IN
出力	Line out, Phones
つまみ	Phones level, input level
きりかえボタン	[phono/mic/line], [mix/usb]

録音時の設定

とりあえず録音できている設定をメモします．

gamix(ミキサーアプリケーション)で，PCMは，Input2にします．Mixerにしてしまうと，再生音が録音にまじってしまうようです． MIC入力を指定しても入力はできないようです??
他にもフィードバックを回避するために，録音のplaybackをオフにしないといけない気が．
ハードウェア側では，つまみは現在 [MIC](マイク入力) [MIX](Mic入力をそのままヘッドフォン出力にミックスしてくれるという意味か？) にしています．
マイクはINPUT LEVEL 最大くらいで使っています．
WAVIOで再生しながら録音する，ということをすると，再生している内容も録音されてしまいます．回避方法は？

ベースを繋げる方法

Bassマルチエフェクタ(BOSSのME-6B)の通常の出力を小さなピン端子に接続できるような変換ケーブルを利用してマイク端子に接続しています．マイクの録音音量つまみについては，15%あたりに設定しています．無事に接続でき，音もそれなりなものが出ています．

ギターを繋げる方法

MaxonのオーバドライブをBassエフェクタ経由で接続しています．直接接続すると，インピーダンスの不整合かなにかの影響で共鳴します．やばいです．

動作検証に使用しているアプリケーション

動作検証したことがあるものは大体下記です．

Linux 2.6.9 (i386/powerpc), Linux 2.6.12-2.6.13の毎日のLinusから出ているgit tree版のカーネル(i386). Linux 2.6.13 (amd64)

再生

ヘッドフォンをPHONES端子に接続しています．ボリュームは10中3くらいの場所においています． gamixでの調整も重要かもしれません．

USB接続に関しての不具合?

現象としては，一旦WAVIOをUSB接続して，はずすとXがUSBキーボードを認識しなくなるという現象がありました．また，抜けかけのUSBケーブルの状態におくとカーネルがハングしました．あまりぬきさししないのがよいかもしれません．これは検証してみると，どうやら1日くらいUSBから電源を供給してさしっぱなしでおいておくと熱かなにかでデバイス自体が不安定な状況になるようです．

WAVIOの提供するデバイスとしてUSBキーボードが見えています．これが予想している原因です．何かkeycodeを飛ばして来るので，dmesgをみると下記メッセージが大量に出ています．原因については追いきれていません． 2005年10月追記：最近は問題ないようです．HID audioとして認識されているデバイスなので以前はXがそれにだまされていたのか？

ecasoundでの使用例

USBデバイス(alsahw:2,0,0)経由で1.wavに録音しつつ， 100bpmでメトロノームをならした音とともに USBデバイス経由で再生する例です．
